October 24 was "Read for the Record Day." For the record, over two million readers read the book "Piper Chen Sings" in thousands of classrooms worldwide. Members of the Educators Rising club at Payson High came to our school as part of this special day. They read aloud the book to many of our classes. We loved having them come!
Fall break is almost here! There is no school October 17-18 as well as October 21 (P/C comp day).
Congratulations to Kellan, Jacob, Cal, Kaitlyn, Alejandro, and Olivia for winning the Fire Prevention Week Coloring Contest. Their award winning artwork will be on display at Payson City's Main Street grand opening on October 16 from 5-7 pm.
Did you know that our school has a STEM lab complete with 3D printers, microscopes, robots, and other activities? During the month of October, Mr. Harris is teaching STEM instead of his traditional computer lessons. This week students worked together to create towers.
Members of the Hawk Squad enjoyed attending a leadership conference at BYU. They left the conference inspired to better serve our school.
This week we had the pleasure of welcoming New York Times best selling author, Brandon Mull, to our school! Brandon is the writer behind beloved series Fablehaven, Dragonwatch, Beyonders, Five Kingdoms and Candy Shop Wars. His stories have captivated us with their magical worlds and exciting adventures.
During the assembly, Brandon shared insights into his writing process and the origins of his ideas. He emphasized the importance of creativity and perseverance, inspiring students to pursue their own writing dreams.
The event was both enjoyable and motivating, deepening our appreciation for reading and storytelling. Brandon Mull's visit was a memorable experience for everyone involved!
The Discovery Children's Museum in Salt Lake City visited kindergarten. They learned about forces of motion.
