First grader’s in Mrs. Taylor’s class enjoyed sharing what they learned about animals with their 4th grade buddies from Mrs. Clement’s class!

Our fifth grade students enjoyed a field trip to the state capitol. While there, they learned from Representative Welton, toured the capitol, and watched our representatives in action.

Congratulations to our February students of the month! These students were selected for showing kindness. We are grateful for all the good that they contribute to our school.

Our full day kindergarteners learned about the voyage of the Mayflower. They sailed around the school hearing the story read by their pilgrim teacher, they rescued pilgrims who fell overboard during a story and they spotted land in North America. Our kindergartners are glad they didn't have to sail on the real Mayflower!

Congratulations to Perry Ewell, our teacher of the year! Mr. Ewell has taught at our school since it opened 24 years ago. This year is his 37th year teaching. Mr Ewell cares deeply about his students and their success. He said, "Teaching is tough work. Watching our students succeed and develop makes every challenge worthwhile. I cannot take credit for my students' success. They make the choices. We teachers just give the opportunities and encouragement. I teach because I love to see children grow and achieve, and if I can do anything to foster that growth - hallelujah!"

Fifth grade students spent weeks preparing their Amazing American Reports. Each student selected an individual to research and represent. They did a phenomenal job presenting their reports!

Congratulations to the January students of the month! These students were selected for showing perseverance.

Many students celebrated the 100th and 101st days of school by doing various activities to celebrate being 100 days smarter. We can't wait to see how much they grow over the rest of the year!

Congratulations to Celeste Penick for winning the Crystal Apple Award. Not only is Ms Penick an exceptional reading teacher, but she has also spearheaded reading intervention at our school by training other educators and providing data-based instruction. We're so grateful for all she does!

Today is our school spirit day at Chubby's! Come at any time to support our school and a great local business.
